Is Google’s Dominance in Delivering “Free” Search Engine Traffic Slipping?

Google is the undisputed leader in traffic and volume for search engines, and traditionally delivers about 65% of all search engine traffic across industries in the US Market. However, Microsoft’s “Bing” search engine and the (also Bing-driven) Yahoo Search results combine to form a strong alternative in delivering searchers to a Web page. Rosetta recently conducted a study of its clients to determine what percentage of visits was referred by organic (free) search engine results, between January and April of 2011. With over 10 million visits accounted for, we found that the numbers actually vary quite significantly between Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, and B2B clients.

Please see the Organic Search Engine Market Share report published at Rosetta.com, and feel free to share your observations (and/or your own numbers) in the comments below this post.
